Wedding table setting at Drexelbrook

If you’re looking for an elegant, traditional setting here are several deliciously romantic places to consider...each with it’s own character, style and personality.

Drexelbrook is an award-winning wedding and special event
destination with multiple Ballrooms, a Terrace Garden, Gazebo,
Fountains and Bridal Suites.
The sweeping front entrance of the estate reminds me of a southern mansion and the main ballroom entrance has a circular drive, elegant twenty-foot columns and french doors that lead into an ivory marbled lobby with glittering chandeliers and stylish seating areas with sofas and winged-back chairs.

The Grand Ballroom
This is the perfect place for weddings with 300 guests or more...featuring a custom size dance floor, twenty-foot coffered ceilings with crystal chandeliers, mahogany doors, floor to ceiling windows, broadcast capabilities, screens for instant video, and beautifully appointed Bridal Suites.

The Grand Lobby and South Terrace, with gazebo, bar, fountains, and garden are a perfect backdrop for pre-dinner cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a romantic ceremony, photos at the gazebo, or dessert around a fire pit.

Their wedding team is experienced and genuinely appreciates the uniqueness of every wedding celebration, not only to you as a couple, but also to your ethnic background.

For example, Drexelbrook has hosted all types of large and small South Asian weddings.

Their elegant grand entrance is perfect for your baraat.  The South Terrace, with a gazebo and walking gardens, provides a beautiful backdrop for hosting an elegant cocktail reception and they provide professional-grade staging to enhance large mandaps, which are easily accommodated by our twenty-foot high coffered ceilings.  Seating is available for up to 950 guests.

From the engagement to the Sangeet to the wedding ceremony, reception, and final Kanya Vidai, the Drexelbrook team will be with you every step of the way, executing the details of your day in flawless style.

History of Concordville Inn Restaurant

In the late 1770’s, alongside a dusty road in Concord Township, there stood a tavern called the Concordville Inn.  Inside the faint glow of candles and the warmth of an open hearth were welcome sights to travelers as they made their long journey between Philadelphia and Baltimore.

Truly historic places always seem to have spots where you can almost see people from the past moving through them.
This picture reminded me of all the travelers who ate, overnight-ed and shared ale with new friends at this property since 1770.
What better place to start a new life as a couple, than in a place grounded in gracious hospitality and service to others?

Legend has it that this Inn provided refuge to some of the more famous travelers of the day – from Revolutionary War heroes to statesmen as prominent as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin.

This amazing group of people are experienced, friendly and have one
common goal - to make your wedding day the happiest day of your life.
Start to finish...soup to nuts...whatever it takes.  Give them a call
and hear great ideas on how they can launch your love story!

Today, Ye Old Concordville Inn remains one of the most popular and historic dining sites in Delaware County.

The Inn retains much of its historical flavor.  The various dining rooms feature period antique furniture and artifacts. The menu, while greatly expanded and improved over the last two centuries, features homemade crab cakes, prime rib and lobster.

The Inn is directly adjacent to a
full service Best Western Plus Hotel which features a beautiful lobby with a dramatic staircase. Guest rooms are charming and comfortable and the service is always warm and friendly.

In closing...
The highway outside the front door is no longer a dusty lane for horses and buggies, but a multi-lane highway known as Route One.

And the Concordville Inn is no longer the quaint, roadside inn of yesteryear that offered simple meals, hearty ale, and a place to sleep.

Under the proprietorship of the Hionis family, Ye Old Concordville Inn has become the landmark cornerstone of a dining and lodging establishment that now includes the Best Western Concordville Hotel and Conference Center --  and is one of the community’s favorite settings for banquets, weddings, casual dining, receptions,  and conferences.

Brandywine Valley Overnight Packages include admission tickets to many of these famous attractions.

Tucked away at the end of a long tree-lined drive, historic Appleford is the quintessential Main Line country estate.

The inside is handsome (like the groom!) with a gorgeous spiral staircase (perfect for the bride's entrance, as pictured above)...and the gardens are simply stunning.

Surrounded by 24 picturesque acres, the sprawling fieldstone home is a fine example of early Pennsylvania farmhouse architecture dating back more than 300 years.

Originally part of a land grant from William Penn, the property is carefully maintained as an arboretum and bird sanctuary with blossoming trees and boxwood gardens, stone walls and streams and pond.

The setting is as serene and breathtaking in winter, with a shimmering veil of snow blanketing its grounds - as it is when decked out in fall's brilliance, or spring's first flowers or summer's sun-drenched greenery.

In fact, the grounds and gardens provide numerous settings for ceremonies and photographs: the medallion garden, the boxwood garden, the perennial garden, the rose garden and the woodland garden are just some of the areas to consider.

All this gorgeousness?
Appleford has it's own greenhouse and gardening staff who tend to the grounds, making sure every guest starts their visit with oooo's and ahhhhhs!

While most weddings are booked a good 12-16 months in advance, the staff at Appleford encourage you to call even if the wedding date you have in mind is much sooner than that.

You never know when a Saturday might be sitting around, twiddling it's thumb...just waiting for a bride and groom to snatch it up!
Fridays are also a popular option.  And you'll get rave reviews when you hold your rehearsal dinner or bridal shower here.

There is a tent permanently affixed over the front and side terrace of Appleford from April through November. This is the largest contiguous space for functions and includes a built-in dance floor.

Visitors are welcome to stroll the grounds daily until sunset free of charge, and guided tours are available by special arrangement. The house is available for rental year-round.
